Lunch on Monday Lunch is not served at the camp on Monday or Friday of Kids Camp. You will need to have the kids to bring money to buy lunch on the way or bring a sack lunch. The sack lunch would work on Monday. Since you will not be able to register until 1:00 pm you should have plenty of time to stop and eat on the way or you can bring the food to camp and eat at the outdoor tables. Remember if kids are to be responsible for their own money to have them keep it in their pocket on the van. (You do not want to look in suitcases for the money!) For Friday's lunch you would need to collect the money before camp and return it to the child on Friday. Otherwise they will probably spend it at camp. Other options include: Your church will provide lunch for all campers/workers or buy them all a kid's meal at mcdonalds. |
Counselors and Groups Each church should do it's best to provide a counselor or an assistant with 4 or more campers. We can put one counselor with 8 kids and by adding an assistant you can increase the number to 16-18. If you provide more counselors than this ratio we are encouraged to spread them out to other groups who do not have enough counselors or assistants. Mature counselors, 15 years or older, are the best for your kids. Remember to think of who you would want keeping your child for a week and that will lead you to a qualified individual. Our Dorms hold between 18 and 40 beds. Most likely you will be with other church groups sharing bathrooms and space. Try to have your group stay in the same general area in a room. Almost all your campers will want a top bunk, but you will need to divide your group in half and assign the youngest ones to the bottom bunks. If you have someone older who is very small for their age, please give them a bottom bunk also. Our top bunks are made for larger kids. Small kids can slip under the bar and fall out of bed. Especially if they have a sleeping bag that has a slick surface. |
